JAMB Direct Entry Requirement for Nursing Science

Below is the JAMB Direct Entry Requirements for Nursing/Nursing science

Two ‘A’ Level passes in Biology/Zoology, Chemistry, and Physics, plus three ‘O’ Level credit passes in:

  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • English Language.

NRN or its approved equivalent, plus five ‘O’ Level credit passes in:

  • English Language
  • Four Science subjects chosen from Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Human Anatomy, Physiology and Hygiene, Health Science, Further Mathematics, General Science.

Special Requirements from some institutions to nursing candidates (UTME JAMB/Direct Entry) (Waiver) Remarks

UNIBADAN Requires

  • Five or six ‘O’ level credit passes in one or two sittings, including English Language, Biology/Health Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, and one other subject from Economics, Government, Literature-in-English, History, Geography, or Physics (advantageous).

UNN Requires:

  • ‘O’ level credit passes in not more than two sittings.

AAU Requires:

  • Five ‘O’ level credit passes in one sitting in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry.

NDU They Requires:

  • The credit passes in O’level Result not more than two sittings.

UNN accepts:

  • Nurses registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NandMCN) who also meet UTME requirements.
  • Three GCE “A” level passes in Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry in not more than two sittings, plus UTME requirements.
  • First degree holders in related disciplines.

UNIJOS requires:

  • Three “A” level passes in Physics, Chemistry & Biology or Zoology, along with “O” level credit passes in Mathematics and English Language.

BIU and UNICAL requires:

  • NRN or its approved equivalent, plus five “O” level credit passes in English Language and one science subject from those listed in the “Direct Entry Requirement” column, plus two years of registered nursing experience.

UNIBADAN accepts:

a) Nursing/Midwife

b) Nursing Admin

c) “A” level passes

  • UNIBADAN requires two years of post-registration experience but prefers candidates with more than five years of experience and those with a first degree in health-related disciplines.

ABU accepts:

“A” Level or even IJMB credit or passes in this subject Chemistry, Physics & Biology or even Zoology.

The RN certificate with five credits in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.

LAUTECH and OAU accept:

  • RN or its equivalent, plus “O” level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.

UNIPORT: No Direct Entry.

UNIBADAN requires:

  • Two “A” level passes in Chemistry, Biology, and Physics, plus UTME requirements.

FUTO requires:

  • “A” level passes (not below Grade C) in any two of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
  • ND/HND (Upper Credit) in health-related disciplines.

UNIBEN requires:

  • Three GCE “A” level passes in Biology/Zoology, Chemistry, and Physics, plus “O” level credits in five subjects including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.

UNILORIN requires:

  • Two “A” level or equivalent passes in a minimum of two relevant subjects from Biology, Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Physics/Mathematics.

NDU accepts:

  • Nurses: NRN, RM, RPN plus five “O” level credits in English Language, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology in not more than two sittings.
  • Non-Nurses: B.Sc. (Not lower than Second Class) in relevant fields such as Biochemistry, Medical Microbiology, Human Nutrition, Medical Laboratory Sciences, and other relevant disciplines.

EBSU accepts:

  • HND, NCE, and ND with a minimum of Merit and Upper Credit in relevant fields.
